Given the attitude most young human males display toward my people, it seems turians were the best choice.
Such enforced roles are common in dual-sexed societies. I was fortunate not to have to deal with that particular burden.
I find it comforting. The pain and joy of ordinary life... that is what we are fighting to protect.
I am unsure how the imminent destruction of all organic life "beats" anything, but your enthusiasm is comforting nonetheless.
